Who is Retiring?
Across the globe, only one in eight workers actually retire. Because of the rising cost of, well – living, many people who are old enough to retire end up staying in the workforce.
Financial hardships and new labor habits have more and more workers working, literally, to death. The news hits hard especially for workers in the US and UK, where only about one in five workers ends up retiring and never returning to work.
Money matters, mostly because of the rising costs of higher education, dwindling savings accounts, life expectancy rates, and lost money in stocks during the Great Recession.
Many people expect so spend almost 20 years out of work, but have only saved about half of that through retirement plans and savings.
