"Mob Wives: Chicago" Makes "Basketball Wives" Look Like the "Joy Luck Club"

So why aren't people complaining about it?

I never really talked about “Mob Wives” because I watch it sporadically (though I am excited about Big Ang’s spinoff), but I just watched the trailer for “Mob Wives Chicago” and I have to share it.

I’m not surprised that they moved to another city based on the success of the women in New York, but I wonder why no one seems to be talking about this. If people are disgusted and complaining about the fighting on “Basketball Wives” and “Love & Hip-Hop,” then shouldn’t we be equally appalled with this show?

Is there a double standard when it comes to women of color acting a fool on TV versus white women? I believe that there is, generally speaking. But personally, I don’t see color when it comes to women behaving badly on reality TV. It’s all just one insanely predictable blur.

I watch this stuff for entertainment, but I’m very cognizant of how manipulated these situations are and the fact that many of these women are showing out because they want to use the show as a platform for other business deals. We’ve already seen that people get rewarded for behaving badly on TV, so they use their behavior on these shows as the new business model.

However, if I had children, they would not be watching any of this stuff. But again, why haven’t people made a fuss about “Mob Wives?”

Is it because mafia culture is glamorized in pop culture, or, did I miss something?
