Another "Neighborhood Watchman" Gone Wrong: Rapes Drunken Woman
Assaulted after approaching her offering help
The term "neighborhood watchman" has ironically turned into something quite the opposite thanks to people like George Zimmerman and, now, Ivan Ramos.
The 22-year-old construction worker was posing as the community helper last month when he brutally raped a drunken woman in the West Village area of New York, according to the Daily News.
Seeing her inebriated state, Ramos approached his victim, 29, and offered to accompany her to an ATM machine so she could get money for a taxi.
However, she was too drunk to remember her PIN and requested Ramos take her to a nearby police station.

He, instead, took her down into a stairwell where he sexually assaulted her.
But the 15-minute ordeal was caught on tape and a Manhattan jury indicted Ramos on two counts of rape and three counts of criminal sexual act. A judge granted the prosecutor’s request to increase his bail to $500,000.
Ramos pleaded not guilty and the prosecutor is now waiting on results of DNA testing.
