After stopping polling for Hurricane Sandy, Gallup now shows a tied race
In mid-October the Gallup poll showed a stunning seven percent lead for Gov. Mitt Romney over President Obama in the presidential election. Today, Gallup announced that lead has all but vanished and their poll now shows Romney ahead by just one percent.

As recently as last week Gallup showed Romney with a five-point lead - 51 percent to 46 percent - over the president. The firm then stopped tracking because of Hurricane Sandy and today miraculously came back with a virtual dead heat between Obama and Romney.
The one-point lead falls within the margin of error for the poll and therefore Gallup is essentially calling the race a tie.
