Authorities Investigate Email Threats Targeting Obama

The F.B.I. and Capitol Police are taking online messages very seriously
According to the New York Times, the F.B.I. and Washington, D.C. police are investigating a number of email threats to President Obama and his family.
The online posts also threaten former President George W. Bush and a number of Republicans in Congress, including Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana, chairman of the Republican conference.
In posts, dating back to September 27, a Google account holder offered up to $100,000 to klll the first family, President Obama, his wife and two children. The posts called to bomb bridges and monuments, including the Washington Monument, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Hoover Dam and American embassies around the world. It also called to bomb the headquarters of defense contractors Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman.
“Bomb these American Federal Buildings and American INFRASTRUCTURE BUILDINGS and KILL as many FBI, CIA, DNI and NSA PSYCHOPATHS as possible,” the messages read.
Bill Carter, a spokesman for the F.B.I., said it was not uncommon for messages in any form to threated the President of the United States. Still, he did not comment on this current investigation.
