Former Secretary of State will be included in the network’s inauguration coverage

If you are watching coverage of President Barack Obama’s second inauguration on CBS, you may notice a new face – Condoleezza Rice. The former sectary of state during President George W. Bush’s second term, Rice has joined CBS News as a contributor and will make her big debut in the network’s inauguration coverage on Monday. In a statement, CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager and president David Rhodes said Rice “will use her insight and vast experience to explore issues facing American at home and abroad.” Rice, a Republican, was the first African American woman to serve as secretary of state, right after the very first black, Colin Powell.
