Nationally known mayor told Democratic Party officials he is considering gubernatorial run
According to the New York Observer’s Politicker NJ blog, Newark Mayor Cory Booker told Democratic Party officials that he is might try to unseat Gov. Chris Christie next year. A political consultant for Booker suggested the New Jersey mayor will make a decision on a gubernatorial run by December. Christie, a rising star in the GOP and surrogate for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, has worked with Booker, a surrogate for President Barack Obama, on state issues. Recently, Booker experienced some backlash for criticizing the Obama campaign’s attacks on Romney’s Bain Capital record. (POLITICO)
