Oversight chairman still seeking documents in U.S. gun running scandal

The unprecedented vote in June to hold U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric Holder in contempt of Congress appears not to be enough for Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) The House Oversight Committee chairman, who has dogged Holder for failing to turn over documents related to the Fast and Furious gun-tracking scandal, tweeted that he and other Republican leaders would file charges against Holder on Monday. Issa's announcement of a decision to file a civil suit comes after the Justice Department said it would not prosecute the attorney general on the contempt charges. Legal experts say the case could lead to a long court battle. The Justice Department turned over 7,600 pages of documents during the Issa-led probe. Holder argued further disclosures would have harmed ongoing criminal investigations. (The Hill)
