Salute! Entrepreneurs Win Cash, Car and Mentorship From Scion

10 talented young business owners will get help growing their start-ups

A new ride, $10,000 and a mentor to grow your small business: sounds nice, right? On Wednesday, carmaker Scion announced the 10 winners of its “Motivate” program, a career mentoring initiative. They each received the mentioned prizes. But these talented young entrepreneurs can’t put a price on the career mentoring they’ll receive as part of the program. The winners (click here for a list) will be individually paired with a business mentor relevant to their pursuit. Semi-finalists each received a $1,000 grant. Launched in October, the Motivate program drew applications who specialize in art, fashion, music and film. A panel selected 50 semi-finalists to participate in a three-day workshop last week in Santa Monica, Calif. “The Motivate winners live and breathe the passion Scion hoped to find and elevate through this first-ever program for young entrepreneurs,” said Scion Vice President Doug Murtha.
