Former U.S. attorney says he has yet to discuss it with the president
Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday told a group of Baltimore law students that he had not yet decided whether he will remain in his post for President Obama’s next term. During remarks at the University of Baltimore School of Law, Holder said conversations with the president and his wife would need to happen first. “That’s something that I’m in the process now of trying to determine,” said Holder, the nation’s first African American attorney general. “I will have to think about, ‘Can I contribute in a second term?’ I have to sit down, obviously, to talk to [President Obama], speak to members of my family, particularly one who I’m married to.” Talk of changes to Obama’s cabinet in his second term began before his re-election on Tuesday. Obama administration insiders told the Washington Post that the process is expected to be a slower one than in administrations past. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced she would not return for Obama’s second term, but she will remain on the job until Congress confirms a replacement. (WaPo)
