Bush family patriarch was in guarded condition overnight, spokesman says

George H.W. Bush, father to former President George W. Bush, remained in guarded condition overnight in an intensive care unit in Houston, a family spokesman said on Wednesday. The 88-year-old former world leader was admitted to the ICU at Methodish Hospital on Sunday, after a day marked by “a series of setbacks including persistent fever,” spokesman Jim McGrath said in a brief email.
