A NBC conducted study found that 18 states already have laws that allow teachers to carry firearms as long as they have a permission slip from the principal.
Among the states identified in the piece are Alabama, Texas, Kentucky and Oregon. The laws don't say that the teachers have to give a reason why they would want to bring a gun to school either.
