Herman Cain Says Electrified Border Fence Comment Was Joke
1 year ago
The Godfather says he was just kidding about wanting to build fence to kill immigrants
In the latest installment of "What did Herman Cain say now?" Cain said if elected he will bring the pain to illegals trying to cross the Mexico/U.S. border by building a 20-foot high electric fence.
"It’s going to have barbed wire on the top. It’s going to be electrified. And there’s going to be a sign on the other side saying, ‘It will kill you — Warning,’” Cain said at a weekend rally according to the New York Times.
And just incase potential border crossers no habla ingles, he says the fence will have a sign issuing the warning in both English and Spanish.
When asked if he thought such remarks were insensitive, he responded: “It’s insensitive for them to be killing our citizens, killing our border agents. That’s what’s insensitive. And that mess has to stop.”
When asked again about his comments on NBC's Meet the Press, "Cornbread" said he was just playing, ya'll.
"That's a joke...that's not a serious plan," he said. "I've also said that America needs to get a sense of humor."
Stand up comedy is obviously not Herman Cain's strongsuit. So sir, if you do end up getting elected President, by all means, keep your day job.
