Join @TheLoop21 on Twitter 3/5 at 1pm EST/10am PST to discuss race and the media using #L21MediaChat!

It’s no secret that minorities and minority-related issues have been underrepresented or mishandled by the media for decades, and though there has been significant progress, there is still more work to be done.

Last month, UNITY: Journalists for Diversity and Loop 21 conducted a survey in which journalists were asked how race relations affected modern-day media, and now we want to here from you.

Join the race and media conversation as we discuss how stories like the Trayvon Martin case and President Obama’s election were portrayed in print, online and broadcast media. Follow Loop 21 on Twitter to join the TweetUp on March 5th at 1 PM ET, and be sure to use the hashtag #L21MediaChat during the conversation.

Have thoughts on how the media handles race? Join us for our live TweetUp and make your voice heard!

We will also have a special #LetsTalk conversation on Friday, March 8 during a LIVE UNITY/Loop21 panel discussion in Washington D.C. to further discuss the results of the survey and we will share your questions and comments with our esteemed panel of media professionals. If you would like to attend the panel discussion, contact us at info@theloop21.com.
