Obama Campaign Slams Romney's Tax Stance in New Commercial
8 months ago
Asks that he "come clean"
President Barack Obama’s newest campaign commercial attacks Mitt Romney over taxes. The Republican running mate recently slammed "47 percent" of American voters for not paying income tax (and for relying on government assistance), but the presidential candidate himself has long been criticized for his lack of transparency when it comes to his own taxes. Until Friday, Democrats and even some Republicans were disappointed in Romney for only releasing two years' worth of tax returns. The narrator of Obama's ad says of Romney, “Maybe instead of attacking others on taxes, he should come clean on his." It will begin airing in Ohio, a crucial swing state. Also, on Saturday, Obama spoke in Wisconsin, arguing that he and other upper income Americans can afford to pay more. "I can afford to pay a little bit more. And Mitt Romney sure can afford to pay a little more," he said. (Washington Post)
