Obama’s First Term As Polarizing As Bush’s, Poll Finds

Gallup notes that the country has been trending toward polarization for a decade
President Barack Obama’s fourth year in office -- you know, the one he just ended – is one of the most politically polarized years in recent history, according to a new Gallup survey. Obama enjoyed an 86 percent average approval rating from Democrats, but only a 10 percent average approval rating from Republicans. (Big surprise!) The gap of 76 points is only matched by President George W. Bush, in his fourth year in office, from January 2004-2005. The folks at Gallup noted, however, that Americans have grown more and more polarized over the last decade. But we’re sure it also has something to do with this president being the first one with more melanin than all the others. (POLITICO)
