Obama May Take Executive Action on Gun Control, Biden Says
4 months ago
Biden meets with stakeholders this week to prepare for his recommendations to President Obama.
According to Vice President Joe Biden, President Barack Obama is considering the use of “executive action” to increase gun control. Biden made clear that the president intends to act, which may include pushing a package through congress as well. "There are executives orders, there's executive action that can be taken,” Biden said. “We haven't decided what that is yet.” This week, Biden began meeting with stakeholders on the issue, including representatives from the National Rifle Association, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, and two survivors of the 2007 mass shooting at Virginia Tech.
Biden says that he and the rest of the cabinet members are also seeking legislative action. He is scheduled to make recommendations to President Obama later this month. (USA Today)
