President Obama Launches #My2K Hashtag on Twitter

Asks people to use to address Congress
President Obama is introducing a new hashtag to use during his fiscal cliff campaign. #My2K will be used on Twitter and other social media, and refers to the estimated $2,200 tax increase that a typical middle-class family of four would see if the Bush-era tax cuts expire come January, despite Obama wanting to keep them. The president is calling on people to use the hashtag to tell Congress what losing $2,000 would mean to them. The hashtag is trending and has already been used in more than 15,000 tweets, according to data from Topsy. Last summer, Obama launched #dontdoublemyrate as he negotiated with Congress over student loan rates. (Washington Post)
