Obama vs. Romney: Candidates’ Last Action-Packed Campaign Day
6 months ago
Battleground state voters the focus of last minute pleas for support
While Monday is certainly the last day of campaigning President Barack Obama will do on his own behalf, the day couldn’t be more important for his Republican challenger Mitt Romney. Obama is set to hold rallies in Ohio, Wisconsin and Iowa. Romney is scheduled to make final appearances in Florida, Virginia and New Hampshire. And the two are still lock in dead heat in national polls: a NBC/Wall Street Journal Poll has Obama getting 48 percent of likely voters to Romney’s 47 percent; a Washington Post-ABC News tracking poll also had the candidates virtually tied, Obama at 49 percent to Romney’s 48 percent; and a Pew Research Center poll released Sunday had Obama with a three-point lead, 48 percent to 45 percent.
