White House official confirms push for reform will come this month
Just days after the fiscal cliff battles ended in Congress, the White House is reportedly gearing up for its next fight, immigration reform. President Barack Obama is planning to movie full steam ahead with his domestic policy agenda this month, pushing a fix to the “broken immigration system” as well as changes gun control laws, an official said, who spoke to Huffington Post on the condition of anonymity. The new battles are expected to be as bitter, if not more, than those surrounding the historic Affordable Care Act and the raising of the federal debt ceiling. There are few details about the type of immigration policies the White House plans to push. On gun policy, Obama chose Vice President Joe Biden to lead the effort in identifying reforms to send to Congress. (Huffington Post)
