News magazine says president turned “weakness into opportunity”
Time magazine has again named President Barack Obama its “Person of the Year” for 2012. Explaining its choice, editor Richard Stengel writes, “"For finding and forging a new majority, for turning weakness into opportunity and for seeking, amid great adversity, to create a more perfect union, Barack Obama is TIME's 2012 Person of the Year.” This the second time the news magazine has given the honor to Obama. The runners-up for magazine’s annual year-end feature included Pakistan women’s rights activist Malala Yousafzai, Apple CEO Tim Cook and Egyptian leader Mohamed Morsi.
