Mugabe to return to Zimbabwe after health scare
Zimbabwean dictator Robert Mugabe will return to his home country of Zimbabwe Wednesday after a reported near death scare in Singapore, according to The Zimbabwe Mail.
The 88-year-old dictator was reportedly undergoing intensive treatment in Singapore and members of his family had joined him on the flight over.
Mugabe spokesman George Charamba released a statement after the government postponed a cabinet meeting set for today due to Mugabe's condition. He denied the president was in grave condition.
“The President is on his Easter holidays, like everyone else. He returns to his post this week, at the same time as those who are asking about his whereabouts from their holiday hideouts."
Mugabe, who has prostate cancer, has reportedly seen the disease spread to other organs, further debilitating him.
Recently, Mugabe handed over power to his Defense Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The transfer of power comes four years late. A Wikileaks document exposed a cable written in 2008 that revealed Mugabe's condition was so grave that he was likely to die from cancer within three to five years.
