People who don’t understand just how unsecure much of the World Wide Web is should understand after reading this. First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are among the names of several public figures and celebrities to have their private information posted on a mysterious hacker website. The Secret Service says it Is investigating the postings that include documents with Mrs. Obama’s and Biden’s social security numbers, credit reports, addresses and phone numbers. An online security expert told The Associated Press that this information is easily gleaned from online databases and that the information the site contained, if accurate, could be very damaging to its targets. The other figures to have their information breached include rapper Jay Z and his wife Beyonce, Attorney General Eric Holder, and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin. How sure are you that your Social Security number isn’t available to prying eyes online? It's worth at least thinking about it. (AP)
