Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid Hurt in Car Crash

Lead Democrat in upper chamber of Congress taken to hospital

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has been transported to a hospital in Nevada after being rear-ended in a car crash Friday, authorities say.

Reid, a Democrat representing Nevada, was traveling on Interstate 15 through Las Vegas when the car he was riding in got involved in a six-car pileup, police told the Associated Press.

Reid was taken to a hospital where his condition was unknown. It also was not known if anyone else was injured.
