Offsides! NFL's Roddy White Apologizes for Anti-Gay Tweet

When will these athletes learn?

When will these athletes ever learn? Do they need to have publicists handle their Twitter feeds?

Atlanta Falcons star wide receiver Roddy White may need one after he got in trouble yesterday for sending out what many saw as an anti-gay tweet.

White was asked by a Twitter fan about his statistical goals for the 2012 season to which he responded that he wanted to lead all wide receivers in all applicable categories.

Then, another Twitter follower of White's asked him if he would rather lead the league in stats or win a Super Bowl.

The following response was bizarre as you can see in the tweet below:

The tweet got White a bunch of hate especially considering that he plays in a city with a large African American gay population. A few hours later he posted the following tweet apologizing for his comments.
