Talk radio hosts says racism not in country's DNA
The mainstream, "liberal" media is bent on seeing America as racist and TVOne and CNN contributor Roland Martin is a prime example, according to conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh, who lashed out at Martin during an interview with a high school student yesterday.
Limbaugh, who was asked by the student to discuss racism in the mainstream media, cited a tweet sent by Martin which stated "...racism is in the DNA of America..."
The talk radio show host criticized Martin, stating that it's typical for liberal pundits to believe America is a racist country.
"So here is a mainstream journalist who just lives with the assumption that this is a racist country," Limbaugh told the student. "This guy tweeting today that racism is in the DNA of America, so we are as a country founded in a flawed, sinful way. We are unjust as a country, it's immoral as a country, and that belief allows Mr. Martin excuse to be able to have power over people. To be able to punish people he thinks are racist."
Martin fired back at Limbaugh through a barrage of tweets, calling out the talk radio host's history of drug abuse.
Meanwhile, conservative blog The Blaze, started by former Fox News personality and Tea Party favorite Glenn Beck, declared Limbaugh's attack on Martin an effort to combat "reverse racism."
Limbaugh is no stranger to scandals revolving around potentially racist commentary, and has been widely criticized for a series of comments attacking First Lady Michelle Obama.
