Santorum Conference Call Takeaway: Keep Giving Me Money
1 year ago
He'd rather keep his delegates and delay endorsing any candidates.
Last night, more than 4,000 people joined Rick and Karen Santorum as they spoke to supporters about his future plans. The intro of the call promised a “special surprise” but by the end of the call, listeners were left with nothing but unfulfilled expectations — much of it was fluff. The call may have been meant more-so as a pitch to ease his debt woes (even though he tried to brush the impact finances had on his campaign).
Callers were able to submit questions for the call; one person asked if he would “un-suspend" his campaign if enough people voted for him — he didn’t rule it out.
“Well, I would just say this. The best thing they could do is stay tuned. We really are serious about making sure that the issues that we brought up during this campaign are continued going forward.”
"In the next week or two we'll have some announcements as to how we're gonna structure things going forward,” Mr. Santorum said. Which basically means “There will be more opportunities to give me money, so save it.”

Mr. Santorum also didn’t endorse anyone during the call, saying “As far as who you vote for, that's up to you. I haven't supported any candidate yet.” He said he still wants his bound delegates to vote for him at the convention.
On a lighter note, during the call, Bella Santorum could be heard in the background — whom was often said to be the main reason for Mr. Santorum’s campaign halt.
