Three Positive Reality Shows That Will Make You Think

Three non-ratchet reality shows on air right now.

We know there’s a lot of ratchetness on air when it comes to reality TV but a lot of us watch that stuff, mainly because we’re fascinated. It’s really about the train wreck theory, you don’t want to watch but you’re still curious enough to want to see how bad it is. However, we all have a responsibility to help promote shows that won’t rot the brain cells as well, so that there can be more balance on air. Here are my picks for three must watch reality TV shows that are positive and might actually make you think.

Shark Tank

“Shark Tank” brings hopeful inventors in front of a board of prestigious investors who may or may not like their ideas. It’s a good show for aspiring entrepreneurs to watch because it gives good insight into the process of pitching a business in terms of why some ideas work and others don’t, and how to get your product funded.

Love Addiction

TV One recently unveiled “Love Addiction,” where people run interventions on their loved ones who are involved in toxic relationships. We all know at least one person who as been in a ratchet relationship (even if it’s ourselves), so it’s good to watch this show for those in denial about why they should move on. Sometimes people just need to see themselves and the easiest way to do that, in some cases, is by watching other people. It’s also cool that the therapist is a successful black man. He’s proof that there are other professions in the world where black people can be successful besides entertainment and sports.

Find Our Missing

People of color who go missing tend to never get as much media coverage as their white counterparts. This is a groundbreaking show that raises much needed awareness about missing people of various ages in the black community.
