As revealed last week, WNBC has decided not to renew the contract of their longtime anchor Sue Simmons. Though the 68-year-old has become a fixture in American homes, sitting at her news desk for the last 30 years, she will say goodbye in June.

Rumor has it that Shiba Russell, the 36-year-old co-anchor who WNBC brought in last year around the same time they informed Simmons of their decision, is in the running to take over the empty post.

The NY Post even recognized Russell as 'a younger, sexier version of the iconic New York anchor,' so maybe that's where their cartoonist, Sean Delona, got the idea for his latest artwork: a distressed and desperate Simmons is seen begging at the door of her former "lover" (a cigarette-smoking NBC peacock), but he's already got a naked (and voluptuous) Russell in bed.
