Marrying Up: Janet Jackson Secretly Tied The Knot To Billionaire

She’s still in “control” of her public-private life

Janet Jackson has been “dating” billionaire fashion tycoon Wissam Al Mana for a few years now. Is it any surprise that the two were secretly married last year? Not at all! Jackson is a pro at keeping you and I out of her business. A representative for Jackson confirmed Monday that the entertainer wed Al Mana. In a joint statement, the couple says their wedding was “quiet, private and beautiful” and requested privacy so they “are allowed this time for celebration and joy.” (Associated Press)

Another Jackson Family Star In The Making?

Late pop icon son has signed deal with “Entertainment Tonight”

Prince Michael Jackson, the teenage son of late pop icon Michael Jackson, may not be following in his father’s footsteps. But this is certainly a start: the 16-year-old has signed up for a correspondent gig on TV’s “Entertainment Tonight.” Prince Jackson debuted with an on-air interview of James Franco, Zach Braff and director Sam Raimi, as they they promote the upcoming film “Oz the Great and Powerful.” The young Jackson says he wants “to become well-rounded as a producer, director, screenwriter and actor.” Prince is the oldest of his father’s three children. But he isn’t the only one among them in the entertainment business. In 2011, sister Paris, 14, signed up to star in a movie called “Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys.” The film is still in development. Do you think Prince and Paris will have long careers like their aunts and uncles? (Reuters)

Jermaine ‘Jacksun’? Michael’s Older Brother Petitions Name Change

Former Jackson 5 singer making switch for artistic reasons

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any weirder (or sadder) about the Jackson family, one of the eldest brothers has decided to change his last name to “Jacksun.”  Jermaine Jackson, the older brother of the late Michael Jackson, filed a name change petition on Tuesday in Los Angeles, for “artistic reasons.” The petition doesn’t provide much detail, but Jermaine’s friend Steve Dennis told The Associated Press that the singer’s name change is not unheard of for well known entertainers. (Think “Snoop Lion.”) "It is something he has chosen to do, and it's fair to say that you cannot blame this one on the boogie, you've got to blame it on the sunshine," Dennis said, in a tongue-in-cheek reference to the Jackson 5 disco hit, "Blame it on the Boogie." A hearing on the name change is scheduled for Feb. 22. (AP)

Joe Jackson Flashes His Pistol At Black Music Awards in Vegas

Father of late pop legend told audience he needs it for protection

People have been so angry with Joe Jackson – most notably for how he raised and disciplined the Jackson children -- that he is now packing heat for his protection. He proved it by flashing a holstered pistol to attendees of the (very small, local) Black Music Awards in Las Vegas over the weekend. "I carry a piece everywhere I go ... I'm gonna show it to you," the 83-year-old said before opening his suit jacket to reveal the gun. “I've been threatened a lot of times and so I need to be safe." Jackson was honored at the awards ceremony. (TMZ)

Katherine and La Toya Jackson Loot MJ's Mansion After his Death

Singer reportedly kept money stashed in trash bags and under carpet

Michael Jackson's sister and mother came to the singer’s rented mansion hours after his death looking for garbage bags full of cash, according to details from a new book.

The book alleges that within just hours of Jackson’s death on June 25, 2009, sister La Toya and her boyfriend, Jeffre Phillips, arrived at the house demanding to be admitted, Vanity Fair reports.

The Vanity Fair article quotes information from Randall Sullivan’s book on Michael Jackson, “Untouchable.”

Sullivan’s book says Katherine Jackson also came to the mansion that night and called her dead son’s nanny about the hidden money.
