Kobe and Vanessa Drop Divorce Proceedings, Reunite

The couple has reconciled, dismissed the divorce, and is back together.

Congratulations are in order for Kobe and Vanessa Bryant as they have now reconciled and dropped their divorce proceedings. While Vanessa was very straight forward when she posted the news on Instagram, Kobe announced it on his Facebook page with clear relief. He said, “When the show ends and the music stops, the journey is made beautiful by having someone to share it with.”

In a divorce, Vanessa stood to receive 3 homes and $75 million. The marriage between the couple became rocky when Kobe was accused of raping a young woman. Vanessa cited “irreconcilable differences” when she originally filed for divorce. (News One)

More Than 40 Percent of NBA Coaches Are Black

The Lakers may have shown Mike Brown the door, but there are plenty of black coaches left in the NBA.

The Los Angeles Lakers fired Mike Brown as coach Friday after the team lost all of its preseason games and all but one of its opening regular season games under Brown. In years past the firing of a black coach might have rankled African Americans, as black coaches were anomalies in professional sports for much of the 20th century. In today’s NBA, though, there are plenty of black coaches to go around. As of Tuesday, 13 out of the NBA’s 30 coaches were African American:

Dwight Howard Will Sign Lakers Extension If Traded There

If traded to LA, Howard will follow in Shaq, Kareem and Mikan's footsteps.

Will the Los Angeles Lakers have another big man to add to their pantheon of great centers?

If the Orlando Magic agree to a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers for center Dwight Howard, that just may be the case.

After saying repeatedly that he wouldn't sign an extension in LA if traded there, Howard, who has an off-season home in the City of Angels, said that he will sign an extension with the Lakers, according to RealGM.com.

The development will further heat up talks between the Lakers and Magic who have reportedly lured the Cleveland Cavaliers into the talks as a third team.

The only roadblock in the deal at the moment is Lakers center Andrew Bynum, who refuses to sign an extension in Orlando, and wants to test the free agent market next summer.

Orlando is looking to get rid of big contracts in a trade in return for either Bynum or potential lottery draft picks from mediocre to subpar teams.
