Is Pinterest a Site of Unrealized Dreams?

Survey reveals the photo-sharing website causes stress.

In an effort to be a little crafty, some women go over to Pinterest for inspiration. After browsing through countless boards, pictures and repinning perfectly executed projects, a feeling of inadequacy begins to flourish. Why can’t I be as creative?

The pressure to be perfect is what some moms say is causing major stress, according to a survey of 7,000 U.S. mothers conducted by TODAY. The results revealed 42 percent of women said they suffer from Pinterest-related tension, anxiety and feelings of insufficiency.

Apparently, clicking through the website for birthday party decoration ideas have some women comparing themselves to the unrealistic standards and expectations causing them to feel inadequate.

Comparison is a thief of joy. Being a parent is emotionally and physically draining enough, why bother trying to please an invisible judge?

My vote is, if Pinterest stops being fun, it’s time to break up with the website.
