President Obama’s Plan If Daughters Get Tattoos

President Barack Obama says he hopes his strategy will discourage his girls from getting tattoos
What is the secret to preventing your children from doing something you don’t want them to do? Tell them you’ll do it too.
That’s what President Obama said he will do if his daughters ever say they will get tattoos.
In an interview which aired on NBC’s “Today” show, President Obama told Savannah Guthrie that if his daughters Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, get tattoos then he and Mrs. Obama will also get the same tattoo.
“What we’ve said to the girls is, ‘If you guys ever decide you’re going to get a tattoo, then mommy and me will get the exact same tattoo. In the same place,’” said President Obama. “And we’ll go on YouTube and show it off as a family tattoo.”
He added, “Our thinking is that might dissuade them from thinking that somehow that’s a good way to rebel.”
During the interview, President Obama also talked about President George W. Bush’s legacy and the First Lady’s slip on a recent interview where she referred to herself as a single mother.
“As somebody who has stumbled over my lines many times, I tend to cut my wife or anybody some slack when it comes to just slips of the tongue,” he said. “There’s no doubt that there have been times where Michelle probably felt like a single mom.”

To avoid the cruelty of tabloids and the occasional scandal – think teenage Chelsea Clinton’s torment over her braces, frizzy hair and freckles, and Jenna and Barbara Bush’s underage drinking controversy – the Obama girls have few avenues that could lead them down the path to trouble.
