Courts Give Facebook Thumbs Up
By the means of free speech, according to US courts, Facebook “likes” are protected by the Constitution.
So that Miley Cyrus video, the grumpy cat, and your best friend’s new baby picture are officially protected by the government.
Judge William Traxler, a US Circuit judge correlated a Facebook “like” to a political sign in your front yard. Apparently, liking something on Facebook is a form of speech.
The news comes after some deputy police officers showed support of a political candidate that their boss opposed and got fired.
“Liking” a political figure on Facebook is exactly like supporting the politician in a rally or town meeting.
