The Future Of Artificial Intelligence
Google will soon “know the answer to your questions before you even ask it,” says engineer
It’s only a matter of time until your computer surpasses your intelligence. In a recent interview with the Observer, Ray Kurzweil, the director of engineering at Google shared some information regarding his latest project, and it’s big! Kurzweil, who believes that computers will outsmart us all by 2029, and Google are working together to create a computer system that will understand human beings better than, well, most human beings. “It will have read every email you’ve ever written, every document, every idle thought you’ve ever tapped into a search-engine box. It will know you better than your intimate partner does. Better, perhaps, than even yourself,” said Kurzweil.
In 2012, the engineer told the Montecito Journal that, “Artificial intelligence is not an invasion from Mars. These are brain extenders that we have created to expand our own mental reach. They are part of our civilization. They are part of who we are. So over the next few decades our human-machine civilization will become increasingly dominated by its non-biological component.”
It’s all a bit too weird to think that robots, I mean computers will eventually take over the world, maybe that’s a little over the top, but is it?
