Just Let Your Car Do the Driving
Self-driving cars could be on the road in a few years.
Cue the "Knightrider" theme music!
Turns out the good folks at Nissan decided we all deserve self-driving cars by the year 2020. The Japanese automaker's CEO Carlos Ghosn stated in a press conference, "In 2007 I pledged that --- by 2010 --- Nissan would mass market a zero-emission vehicle. Today, the Nissan Leaf is the best-selling electric vehicle in history. Now I am committing to be ready to introduce a new ground-breaking technology, Autonomous Drive, by 2020, and we are on track to realize it."
Nissan joins Google in the race to have a driverless car on the road in the foreseeable future. But someone go tell Nissan to step on it because Google already started testing the driverless technology in 2010. This leaves us asking - would you ride in a self-driving car? Are self-driving cars necessary? And most importantly, how much will it cost you?
Let us know what you think!
