Move Over Google, Yahoo Steps Up
Will Yahoo rise above the success of rivals, Google and Facebook?
The CEO of Yahoo, Marissa Mayer, has confirmed that the company is now the Internet ‘home’ to 800 million users worldwide, a 20 percent increase in 15 months since her departure from Google.
The progress being made under Mayer’s leadership is monumental, however she says the reason is Yahoo’s part in China’s expanding Alibaba Group.
Yahoo is also home to the blogging service, Tumblr, which has acquired $1.1 billion—a separate accomplishment from the 800 million Yahooers.
With increased traffic and all, the struggle to boost online advertising revenue remains a problem, and this is the main vehicle for profit.
With rivals Google and Facebook on the rise and thriving, the difficulties remain for Yahoo, however Mayer keeps the faith that things will continue to turn around.
Do you think Yahoo will continue to prevail on the up-and-up?
